On the 17th at 2 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the 'Nowon United FC Home Opening Match (Nowon United vs. Pyeongtaek Citizen)' held at Madeul Sports Town Soccer Stadium in Nowon-gu, Seoul.
Nowon United consists of head coach Lee Jung-jae, two other coaches, and 35 players. Since relocating its base to Nowon-gu in 2009, it has established itself as a representative soccer team of Nowon. Currently, it participates in the K4 League.
The K4 League is a semi-professional soccer competition corresponding to the fourth division in South Korea's soccer league system.
The opening match proceeded in the following order: introduction of referees and players, introduction of guests, congratulatory speeches, encouragement of the players, commemorative photo session, kickoff, presentation of signed balls, and the main match (Nowon United vs. Pyeongtaek Citizen).
After the match, various prizes such as soccer balls and scarves were raffled off, providing another enjoyable memory for the residents and fans.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "I hope the team shows good games this season without injuries," and added, "I sincerely congratulate the Nowon United opening match and hope the team will become one that brings joy and hope to the residents of Nowon-gu."
