In Afghanistan, traffic accidents frequently occur due to poor road conditions, old vehicles, reckless driving, and insufficient regulations.
According to Afghan police, over the past 10 months, more than 1,600 people have died and over 4,000 have been injured in traffic accidents.
In December 2022, a tanker overturned in the Salang area of Afghanistan, causing a fire that killed 31 people and injured dozens.
