10 Men and 10 Women... Proportional Representation Candidate Order to Be Announced on the 18th
The Joguk Innovation Party announced its list of proportional representation candidates, including party leader Jo Guk and Democratic Party lawmaker Hwang Unha. In addition, the list includes a total of 20 candidates, with 10 men and 10 women.
On the afternoon of the 15th, the Joguk Innovation Party held a briefing at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, and revealed the list of 20 proportional representation candidates. The list also included attorney Shin Jang-sik and former Ministry of Justice inspection officer Park Eun-jung.
From the 7th to the 11th, the Joguk Innovation Party accepted applications for proportional representation candidates from experts and youth in fields such as prosecutorial reform, media reform, political reform, science and technology, education, culture and arts, welfare, and women's policies. A total of 101 people applied to be proportional representation candidates, and the party's recommendation committee reviewed the candidates based on morality, expertise, and legislative ability to finalize 20 candidates.
Among the female candidates, Kang Kyung-sook, an executive committee member of the UNESCO Korea Committee in the welfare sector; Kim Sun-min, former president of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service in healthcare; Kim Jae-won (singer Lia) in culture and arts; Nam Ji-eun, a researcher at the Cultural Heritage Restoration Foundation in the youth sector; Park Eun-jung, former Ministry of Justice inspection officer in prosecutorial reform; and Baek Sun-hee, professor of social welfare at Seoul Theological University in the low birthrate sector, were included.
Also included were Yang So-young, an educational writer in the education sector; Lee Sook-yoon, a key professor at Korea University specializing in industry-academic cooperation in science, technology, and disability sectors; Lee Hae-min, former senior product manager at Google headquarters in the United States in the science and technology sector; and Jeong Chun-saeng, former presidential secretary for women and family affairs in the party reform sector.
Male candidates included party leader Jo Guk in political reform; lawmaker Hwang Unha and former head of the Immigration Office at the Ministry of Justice Cha Gyu-geun in prosecutorial reform; and attorney Shin Jang-sik in media reform.
Additionally, in the foreign affairs and security sector, former director of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy Kim Jun-hyung; former presidential secretary for legal affairs Kim Hyung-yeon in judicial reform; former director of the Environmental Justice Research Institute Seo Wang-jin in climate and environment; former Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education scholarship officer Seo Yong-seon in education; former Gyeongnam governor preliminary candidate Shin Sang-hoon in youth; and Jeong Sang-jin, chairman of the Film Import and Distribution Association in culture and arts, were confirmed as proportional representation candidates.
The final ranking of these candidates will be determined by votes from party members and the national participatory electorate, with the order to be announced on the 18th.
