Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will reduce fees for the use of public facilities within the city during the "Hwaseong Citizen Week" from the 18th to the 24th in celebration of "Hwaseong Citizen's Day."

The city previously amended the "Hwaseong Citizen's Day" ordinance last year to establish "Hwaseong Citizen Week" and set regulations to reduce public facility usage fees during this period.

This year, the city has significantly expanded the number of public facilities eligible for fee reductions compared to last year. While only three places offered free admission or usage fee exemptions last year, starting this year, the benefits have been extended to 11 locations, including ▲free admission to K3 League home games (on the 16th) ▲exemption from fees at public camping sites and the Our Flower Botanical Garden ▲50% discount on public parking fees, among others.

Discount benefits also involve the local private sector. Participating businesses offering discounts or events include ▲NongHyup ▲LG Electronics Best Shop ▲Small Cinema (food and beverage discounts on the 23rd and 24th) ▲Nono Cafe (50% discount on the 21st) and ▲Seohaerang Cable Car (50% discount from the 18th to the 24th).

Meanwhile, a photo exhibition will be held in the city hall lobby from the 18th to the 29th. The exhibition showcases the transformation of Hwaseong City from the 1960s to the present. On "Hwaseong Citizen's Day," the 21st, a commemorative ceremony will take place in the city hall auditorium.

A city official said, "This year's Citizen's Day is especially meaningful as it is the first since the population surpassed one million," adding, "We hope more citizens will enjoy the benefits during Citizen Week."
