Gyeongnam Police Agency Conducts Search and Seizure of Two Indonesian Researchers in 'KF-21 Confidential Leak' Case

The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency has launched a forced investigation into Indonesian researchers caught attempting to leak technology related to the Korean fighter jet KF-21.


The Security Investigation Division of the Provincial Police Agency announced on the 15th that they are conducting a search and seizure of two Indonesian researchers dispatched by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), including Mr. A, who is suspected of violating the Defense Acquisition Program Act.

According to the investigation division, the search and seizure began at 9 a.m. today, targeting the offices and residences of the two researchers, including Mr. A.


They are suspected of attempting to smuggle out materials related to the KF-21 development process onto portable storage devices (USBs) on January 17, while working on dispatch at Korea Aerospace Industries for the joint development of the KF-21.


The police plan to continue the investigation by analyzing data using digital forensic techniques on computers, storage devices, and mobile phones used by the two individuals.
