On the 13th, posts related to Ms. A, who uploaded a video titled "It is better to give birth in your 20s," appeared one after another on SNS and various online communities. Some posts recorded over 800,000 views. Earlier, on the 9th, Ms. A revealed on her SNS that she gave birth at the age of 23 and listed 20 advantages of giving birth at a young age.

Looking at the 20 benefits mentioned by Ms. A, they include: ▲ faster recovery after childbirth ▲ healthy baby ▲ sufficient physical strength for childcare ▲ having a goal in life ▲ friends being amazed by her giving birth and visiting often to help with the baby ▲ developing a strong sense of responsibility ▲ although difficult at first, it becomes easier later, and so on.

The video contained no negative content criticizing or belittling others. However, the video received over 2,000 malicious comments. The main reason for the malicious comments was that it "promotes prejudice." Netizens criticizing Ms. A responded with comments such as, "It feels unpleasant as if she is saying it is bad to have children late," "It seems like mental victory because she cannot enjoy the pleasures only available in your 20s," "She would oppose if her daughter said she would have a baby in her 20s," and "What does it matter whether you have children late or early?" Netizen B also criticized, saying, "Listing advantages one after another and trying to be recognized makes it seem like she is living an unhappy life."

On the other hand, some netizens left supportive comments such as, "In this era of low birth rates, I respect her for having and raising a child at an early age," "I don't understand what she did wrong to receive such malicious comments," "A life that finds happiness in small things is beautiful," "The child will be happy that the mother is young," and "Looking at the comments here, I understand why the birth rate is low." Currently, comments that fuel gender conflicts continue to be posted on the video.

Meanwhile, as more women enter the workforce, the timing of marriage and pregnancy is delayed, leading to an increase in advanced maternal age pregnancies. According to last year's Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) survey, the average age of first childbirth in Korea was 32. Advanced maternal age refers to women who become pregnant at 35 or older. Because advanced maternal age increases the risk of various pregnancy complications, it is classified as a high-risk pregnancy. In particular, risks increase for chronic hypertension, preeclampsia (toxemia, eclampsia), difficult labor, premature birth, placenta previa, placental abruption, postpartum hemorrhage, gestational diabetes, cesarean section rate, chromosomal abnormalities, and birth defects.

Since advanced maternal age is a high-risk pregnancy for both mother and fetus, regular check-ups and thorough prenatal care are necessary. During prenatal care, tests such as chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis are performed to screen for chromosomal abnormalities, along with ultrasound examinations and fetal well-being tests (fetal movement tests). Conducting detailed ultrasound examinations is also helpful.
