This agreement comes from Shinsegae Food’s recognition of the need to improve work convenience and reduce labor when cultivating field crops such as onions to foster agriculture as a future growth industry. Shinsegae Food plans to improve the quality and storability of onions produced through mechanization projects in Sinan County by March 2026 to enhance marketability, activate ton bag distribution, discover excellent farms, and carry out various activities.

To expand the distribution of Sinan County onions, Shinsegae Food will actively use them as raw materials for its products and provide a stable distribution network for Sinan County onions. Through this, it aims to establish a foundation for the stable growth of local agriculture and enhance the product brand image.

A Shinsegae Food official said, “Unlike rice farming, field crops require a lot of manpower during cultivation, so research and development to improve efficiency through mechanization is actively underway. Through this MOU with Sinan County, we will improve the efficiency of onion production and distribution and fulfill our corporate social responsibility to ensure the sustainable development of local agriculture.”
