Seeking Solutions Together for Low Birthrate Response

At this meeting, Chairman Choi and Vice Chairman Joo discussed cooperative tasks between the two organizations to address low fertility.
The meeting was held as part of Vice Chairman Joo's communication with economic organization leaders since his inauguration on the 12th of last month. The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry agreed that the low fertility issue is an important economic agenda and a complex problem, emphasizing the importance of related organizations' consideration and roles in policies that can comprehensively resolve it.
The Low Fertility Committee stated that it will seek multifaceted support measures for companies and workers in cooperation with relevant ministries and local governments.
Vice Chairman Joo emphasized, "Creating good jobs for the economic stability of young people, along with supporting the coexistence of work and family in current jobs and improving the child-rearing environment, is an urgent task."
He continued, "Regardless of gender, I ask for the active cooperation of companies, the key players in responding to low fertility, to create a good working environment where people can have and raise children without the burden of child-rearing or career disadvantages."
