Chunseong Kim, President of Chosun University, Distributes 'Thousand-Won Breakfast'... Communicates with Students

Chunseong Kim, President of Chosun University, personally distributed the '1,000 Won Breakfast' and shared a meal with students to communicate with them.

According to Chosun University on the 13th, President Kim participated in the 1,000 Won Breakfast distribution event held the previous morning to promote the project.

The event was attended by President Chunseong Kim, Student Council President Hyeongjun Ahn, and other university officials. President Kim personally handed out breakfast to students and shared a meal while having conversations.

The '1,000 Won Breakfast' project was launched to support the formation of healthy eating habits by providing a healthy breakfast for 1,000 won to young people (university students) who had a breakfast skipping rate of 59% as of 2022.

Chosun University started the project on the 4th and will provide a total of 28,800 lunchboxes over 120 days until December 19 (every Monday to Thursday, and Fridays during midterm exam weeks of the first and second semesters).

Sales begin at 8:30 a.m. at eight convenience stores operated by the Chosun University Consumer Cooperative.

With government support of 2,000 won, local government support of 1,000 won, and school contributions (including Consumer Cooperative support) of 1,000 won, students can enjoy a breakfast worth a total of 5,000 won for just 1,000 won.

President Chunseong Kim said, “In this era of high prices, it seems that students can focus more on their studies by having a balanced breakfast for 1,000 won,” adding, “We will continue to strive to ensure this project can be sustained.”
