Based on Extensive Experience Handling Multiple Public Official Election Law Cases, Nationwide Response System Established
"Collaboration with Former Judges and Experts... Strength in Rapid Response"
Daeryun Law Firm (Limited) announced on the 13th that it has separately formed the '2024 Election Response TF' to provide specialized legal services in preparation for the 22nd National Assembly election to be held on April 10.
The Election Response TF, launched in February, was composed by selectively gathering experienced lawyers and experts from the existing Criminal Group and Evidence Investigation & Digital Forensics Group who have extensive experience in election-related cases and expertise in violations of the Public Official Election Act.
All members of the Election Response TF have long legal careers and come from backgrounds in the courts, prosecution, and police, possessing diverse experience in handling various cases.
Kim Inwon, former Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, serves as the team leader, and Kim Gukil, the CEO, serves as the deputy team leader.
In particular, Daeryun leveraged its advantage of having the largest network of 36 branches nationwide by including former government lawyers stationed at regional offices as team members, establishing a nationwide response system.
Team members include ▲ Na Changsoo, Park Seongdong, Chief Lawyers, Kim Youngmin, General Counsel (Seoul) ▲ Seo Bongha, Chief Lawyer (Suwon) ▲ Kim Eunyoung, Chief Lawyer (Goyang) ▲ Son Sunhyuk, Chief Lawyer (Daegu) ▲ Kang Hyeongyun, Chief Lawyer (Daejeon) ▲ Kwak Minseop, Chief Lawyer (Gwangju) ▲ Kim Jinwon, Kim Geunsu, Lee Ilkwon, Chief Lawyers (Busan), among others.
Daeryun, which manages all cases centrally at its headquarters, has also established a digital system to enable integrated management of election-related cases at the headquarters.
The Evidence Investigation & Digital Forensics Group, staffed with investigation experts, is collaborating with them.
Utilizing the capabilities and technologies of the Forensics Group, they have completed analysis of public opinion trends and finalized reviews of laws and precedents related to the April 10 general election, establishing a one-stop legal service strategy.
Under the Public Official Election Act, a confirmed fine of 1 million KRW or more results in loss of the parliamentary seat.
The Daeryun Election Response TF provides tailored legal services in areas such as ▲ legal advice during election preparation and campaigning stages ▲ investigation, complaints, and accusations regarding violations of the Public Official Election Act ▲ defense activities during investigation and trial processes of alleged election law violations ▲ response to the dissemination of false information.
Daeryun has been at the forefront of protecting clients' rights through specialized defense activities in cases involving violations of the Public Official Election Act.
Representative cases include the defense against Public Official Election Act violations due to prohibited donation activities by a council member of City A, defense against violations related to the establishment and operation of private organizations during the election campaign period by a council member of City B, and defense against election campaign obstruction violations by a National Assembly member-elect of City C.
Regarding this year's April 10 general election, Daeryun is assisting clients through professional advisory activities so that they can focus solely on campaigning without worrying about violations of the Public Official Election Act.
CEO Kim Gukil stated, "By handling Public Official Election Act violation cases occurring nationwide, we have accumulated more data and practical experience than anyone else. The strength lies in having experts with specialized backgrounds in courts, prosecution, and police collaborate to handle a single case, enabling us to respond more swiftly to protect clients' rights than any other law firm."
