A Man in His 60s Dies After Falling While Painting a Roof in Geochang

A worker who was painting on a building roof fell and died.

According to the Geochang Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 12th, a man in his 60s, Mr. A, who was painting on the roof of a two-story building in Geochang-gun around 12:20 PM on the 8th, fell approximately 6.4 meters down.

Mr. A was taken to a nearby hospital and was receiving treatment but ultimately passed away around 12:45 PM the following day.

At the time of the accident, Mr. A was reportedly working at a certain distance from one colleague.

The police believe that Mr. A fell after misstepping while working without attaching a safety harness, and they are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident and whether there was criminal negligence causing death in the course of work by questioning those involved at the scene.
