Gyeongnam Province Holds Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event for 7 Days

Gyeongsangnam-do will hold a Onnuri gift certificate refund booth event for purchasers of domestic seafood at five traditional markets in the province from the 16th to the 22nd.

According to Gyeongnam Province on the 13th, for seven days, customers who buy domestic seafood at ▲Tongyeong Buksin Traditional Market ▲Tongyeong Seoho Traditional Market ▲Tongyeong Jungang Traditional Market ▲Goseong Dinosaur Market ▲Namhae Traditional Market will receive up to 30% of their purchase amount back in Onnuri gift certificates.

The refund amount is up to 20,000 KRW per person; 20,000 KRW for purchases of 67,000 KRW or more, and 10,000 KRW for purchases between 30,400 KRW and less than 67,000 KRW.

If you bring the payment card receipt or cash receipt from the same day’s purchase to the event booth, you can receive Onnuri gift certificates according to the purchase amount.

Gift certificates can only be received when purchasing domestic seafood, and for processed foods such as salted seafood, the product must contain at least 70% domestic raw materials.

Zero Pay mobile gift certificate purchases, government stockpiled seafood releases, general restaurants such as sashimi restaurants, and imported seafood are not eligible for refunds.

This event is being promoted with a national budget investment of 485 million KRW to stabilize seafood prices in the first half of the year and to revitalize consumption of domestic seafood.

Jo Hyun-jun, Director of the Marine and Fisheries Bureau, said, “The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, local governments, and merchant associations are preparing the Onnuri gift certificate refund event,” adding, “Our province plans to hold monthly Onnuri gift certificate refund events until June after this event, so we ask for your great interest.”

He also advised, “Since the gift certificates for each market may run out early, please contact each market’s merchant association before visiting to check the availability of gift certificates.”

The Namhae Traditional Market Merchant Association said, “The Onnuri gift certificate refund event has been steadily participated in for three years as it adds vitality to the consumption of seafood from the southern coast and greatly helps the revitalization of small traditional markets.”

They added, “Even before the event, many customers inquire about participation and the period of the refund event, so we are doing our best to prepare by advertising in local newspapers, producing promotional materials, and educating merchants about the refund event, and we hope many people will visit.”
