Gaon Group's 'AI Service Robot' Roams Daily Life... "Passed Elevator Boarding Safety Evaluation"

Gaon Group's artificial intelligence (AI) service robot has strengthened its credibility by obtaining major domestic certifications and is ready to enter the market.

AI total solution specialist Gaon Group announced on the 13th that its subsidiary K-Future Tech's indoor delivery robot has passed the 'Elevator Boarding Robot Safety Evaluation' conducted by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement.

This evaluation is a system that assesses safety requirements for mobile robots boarding elevators according to Korean Industrial Standards. Indoor delivery robots need to provide services across multiple floors due to their intended use. In this process, it is essential to deliver loads stably without colliding with passengers or obstacles, making safety evaluation by an accredited institution indispensable.

K-Future Tech's robot received results confirming that all items, including △obstacle detection related to safety △overcoming steps and gaps △protective stop △elevator control, meet safety requirements in document and on-site verification evaluations. The company explained that securing numerous core technologies in advance for stable driving, including mechanisms for handling uneven surfaces, slopes, and vibration reduction, was crucial in enhancing technological reliability.

A company representative stated, “Following the acquisition of KC certification last January and completing the safety evaluation confirmation, we are fully prepared to navigate everyday spaces such as hotels and hospitals. Based on the distinctiveness and competitiveness of our ‘autonomous driving robot integrated with AI solutions,’ we will stabilize the new business on a solid track and accelerate market expansion.”
