Han Dong-hoon, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, requested the party's Nomination Management Committee to reconsider the nomination issue of lawyer Do Tae-woo, who was nominated for Daegu Jung and Nam Districts. Lawyer Do recently became controversial due to his past remarks related to the May 18 Democratic Movement.
On the 11th, Chairman Han stated in a press release, "I have requested the Nomination Management Committee to conduct a thorough review of candidate Do Tae-woo's past remarks to ensure they meet the public's expectations."

Lawyer Do became controversial after it was revealed that he mentioned in a past YouTube broadcast that "there are significant problematic aspects regarding the May 18 Democratic Movement, and especially, the involvement of North Korea is commonly accepted as an issue."
At the emergency committee's closed meeting that day, some attendees, including Emergency Committee member Park Eun-sik, who was nominated for Gwangju Dongnam-eul District, raised concerns about the Nomination Management Committee's failure to filter out Lawyer Do's remarks and the sincerity of his apology, leading to intense debates among the leadership.
