Previously Active in Lee Jae-myung's Camp
The Joguk Innovation Party announced on the 11th that singer Ria (real name Kim Jaewon) has joined the party.
Ria, who debuted in 1996 with her first album 'Diary,' is a 90s star singer known to the public with hit songs such as 'Tears.' She was active in the campaign of Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea and a candidate in the last presidential election, even singing his entrance song.
Meanwhile, Prosecutor Lee Gyuwon, who is on trial for allegations of illegal travel ban related to former Deputy Minister of Justice Kim Hak-ui, also joined the Joguk Innovation Party.
Prosecutor Lee was indicted on charges of illegally imposing a travel ban by submitting an emergency travel ban request in his name to the Ministry of Justice in March 2019, while working at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Past Affairs Investigation Division, regarding a case number in which former Deputy Minister Kim was previously cleared. Prosecutor Lee expressed his intention to resign on the 7th, but it has not yet been accepted.
In addition, the Joguk Innovation Party reported that Professor Baek Seonhee of the Department of Social Welfare at Seoul Theological University, Research Assistant Professor Yoon Youngsang of the Moonshul Graduate School of Future Strategy at KAIST, and President Jung Sangjin of the Korean Film Import and Distribution Association have also joined the party.
