'Panda Ramyeon' with Cute Panda Fish Cake Gains Word of Mouth
Using Natural Ingredients and Enhanced Nutritional Design

Foodie Buddy Ramen, Korea's first children's soup ramen and famous as 'Panda Ramen,' is receiving explosive responses.

Comprehensive food company Harim announced on the 11th that sales of the four types of Foodie Buddy children's ramen surpassed 7 million units within four months of its launch in November last year. This means that every child aged 4 to 8 in South Korea (6,134,846 children, based on the resident registration population status from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as of June 2023) has eaten Foodie Buddy ramen at least once, with one unit sold every 1.48 seconds. A Harim official analyzed, "This is because it met the needs of parents who want to feed their children delicious and healthy food and satisfied the tastes of children."

Sodium-Free Children's Ramen Hits the Mark... Harim 'Foodie Buddy' Sells 7 Million Units in 4 Months

Foodie Buddy children's ramen was released in four types: red ramen and white ramen in both bag and cup products, tailored to children's tastes and recommended nutritional intake. Using fresh natural ingredients to maximize flavor to a level comparable to adult tastes, it is also highly regarded for its enhanced nutritional design suited to children's growth and development through nutrition experts. Within less than a week after its launch, it experienced multiple temporary sold-out situations on Coupang.

Foodie Buddy ramen, featuring a savory beef broth base, is characterized by a clean taste without saltiness, with sodium levels much lower than conventional ramen (red ramen 1080mg, white ramen 1050mg compared to 1640mg). The thin dried noodles, which are easily slurped in one bite, retain the chewy texture of fresh noodles. Additionally, domestically sourced vegetable flakes, purchased and prepared directly, and cute panda fish cakes make it enjoyable for children to eat.

Meanwhile, Harim strengthened its children's ramen lineup last month by introducing 'Kkamang Jjajangmyeon,' which captures the authentic taste and flavor of real black bean noodles. This product also has reduced sodium content but maximizes taste and quality with dark brown chunjang stir-fried at high temperatures and 1.2mm thin dried noodles that are not fried in oil. It has gained positive word-of-mouth from mothers since its initial release.

A Harim official stated, "We have achieved meaningful results by pioneering Korea's first children's soup ramen market while precisely targeting children's tastes with high-quality flavor and quality," adding, "Encouraged by the explosive response from consumers, we will continue to introduce children's meals filled with sincerity regarding taste and nutrition."
