"The 'Fate' of the Fatherland Is Determined Solely by the People"
Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, sharply criticized fortune tellers who predict his future based on other information, emphasizing, "Unlike some, I do not rely on 'Saju' (Four Pillars of Destiny), physiognomy, or shamanism for my political activities."
On the 10th, Jo announced on his social networking service (SNS), "Some unusual people contacted me claiming they could reveal my future, but I refused to meet them."
"Many people have appeared online predicting my future based on my 'Saju,'" he wrote, "but I couldn't help but smile wryly after hearing the premises of these 'predictions.'" Since Jo is from the class of '82, many 'beopsas' (Buddhist monks), 'dosas' (Taoist masters), and shamans have assumed his birth year to be 1963 when reading his Saju or divine signs, but in fact, Jo was born in 1965, the year of the Snake according to the Eulsa year. "It's absurd that they want to read the Saju or divine signs using the birthdate of a completely different person," he criticized.
He added, "Unlike some, I do not rely on 'Saju,' physiognomy, or shamanism for political activities, nor do I write the character 'Wang' (king) on my palm or carry talismans in my underwear or wallet," distinguishing himself from President Yoon Seok-yeol, who has been embroiled in shamanism controversies since the 20th presidential election.
Jo said, "I am curious about what kind of nonsense 'predictions' they made around the 2019 'prosecutorial chaos' period," and stated, "As the leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, I am fully committed and determined to lead the party and elections to bring an early end to the prosecutorial dictatorship regime and build an advanced welfare state, the '7th Republic.'"
He continued, "All the talented recruits I personally contacted and persuaded have also burned their own bridges. We intend to see this through to the end." He said, "I will fight the Yoon Seok-yeol administration without compromise and firmly unite and cooperate with the pan-democratic progressive camp led by the Democratic Party. With only one month left until the April 10 general election, Jo Guk's 'destiny' will be decided solely by the people."
