Russia: "Ukraine, Overnight Drone Attacks... All 47 Shot Down"

The Ukrainian military attempted drone attacks overnight in the southwestern region of Russia, but all were shot down by air defense systems, according to Russian forces.


According to TASS and other sources, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the 9th (local time) via social media that "47 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed in four southwestern regions of Russia."


The Ukrainian drones flew into southwestern Russia, including Rostov (41 drones), Volgograd (3 drones), Kursk (2 drones), and the border area of Belgorod (1 drone), where they were shot down by air defense systems, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated.

Russia claims that drone attacks continue unabated in its southwestern regions adjacent to Ukraine.


On the night of the 7th, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported intercepting 12 Ukrainian drones over Volgograd and Belgorod, and on the morning of the previous day, 4 drones over Volgograd were also intercepted.
