Dong-A University ROTC Holds Induction and Promotion Ceremony

64th Class 33 New Members and 63rd Class 46 Promotions

"We Will Do Our Best to Raise Our Status"

Dong-A University held the 2024 ROTC (Officer Training Corps, Commander Colonel Lee Seung-hyun) Induction and Promotion Ceremony.

Dong-A University ROTC 64th class candidates are taking a commemorative photo for their induction.

The event, held on the 5th at Kyungdong Hall on the Seunghak Campus, was attended by President Lee, Commander Lee, Kim Il-jung, President of the Dong-A University ROTC Alumni Association, instructors, cadets, and alumni association officials.

On this day, 33 members of the 64th class were officially inducted as first-year cadets, and 46 members of the 63rd class were promoted to second-year cadets.

Cadets Lim Si-yeon (63rd class) and Park Hong-seok (64th class) were selected as outstanding ROTC cadets and received certificates of commendation from the president.

Cadet Lim expressed, “As a proud member of the prestigious Dong-A University 117 ROTC 63rd class, I will do my best to live without regrets during the remaining cadet period.”

Cadet Park said, “I am overwhelmed with joy as I feel I am one step closer to my dream of becoming a soldier. Although I am excited and nervous about my future ROTC life, I will unite with my 64th class peers and strive to further elevate the prestige of Dong-A University 117 ROTC.”

President Lee Hae-woo said at the event, “It is very reassuring to see you all participating in today’s induction and promotion ceremony with such a dignified appearance. I hope the promoted second-year cadets successfully complete the remaining officer training courses and lead the juniors well. For the newly inducted first-year cadets, balancing academics and unfamiliar military training will be difficult and challenging, but I hope you overcome it with strong mental resilience.”

Established in 1961 as one of the initial 16 ROTC units nationwide, Dong-A University ROTC has produced and trained over 4,500 ROTC officers, including six generals (Nam Young-shin, Ko Hyun-seok, Jung Jong-min, Lee Jong-eon, Kang Bu-bong, and Kim Yong-su).

Dong-A University ROTC is recruiting 65th and 66th class ROTC cadets from male and female university freshmen and sophomores until the 26th of next month.
