Naver announced on the 8th that it successfully completed its schedule at 'LEAP 2024,' the largest international IT exhibition in the Middle East held in Saudi Arabia.
The event took place from the 4th to the 7th of this month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is Saudi Arabia's largest technology exhibition organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), attracting attention with participation from over 1,800 global tech companies.
Naver's booth was located in the Big Tech Pavilion, the main exhibition hall, alongside global tech companies such as Google, Apple, Meta, and IBM during the exhibition. Operated under the concept of a 'Global Tech Convergence Company,' the booth was visited by over 10,000 visitors, including global tech stakeholders, over four days. Notably, on the 5th, Abdullah Al-Sawaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia, and Lee Sang-min, Minister of the Interior and Safety of Korea, personally visited the booth. Minister Al-Sawaha said, “Naver possesses all kinds of technologies. I hope that with these excellent technologies, many business opportunities will arise in Saudi Arabia.”
Visitors showed interest in the fact that Naver is the search service chosen by the largest number of users in Korea, competing against global services. They also paid attention to Naver unveiling the world's third and Korea's first ultra-large-scale artificial intelligence (AI). Naver reported that visitors expressed amazement at its advanced technologies, including ▲Generative AI HyperCLOVA X ▲Cloud ▲Robotics ▲Autonomous Driving ▲Digital Twin ▲Tech Convergence Building '1784' ▲Hyperscale Data Center 'Gak Sejong.'
Additionally, two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) announcing cooperation with Naver were signed. On the 6th, Naver signed a partnership MOU with Aramco Digital for digital innovation in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, and the day before, an MOU was signed with the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) to establish an intelligent transportation system. Furthermore, more than 800 on-site consultations were conducted spontaneously with global tech industry stakeholders interested in Naver's technological capabilities.
Moreover, Naver explained that the keynote speech by Seok Sang-ok, CEO of Naver Labs, presenting Naver's technological prowess and a blueprint for future smart cities based on it, received great acclaim. Naver also unveiled 'Arc Mind,' the world's first web platform-based robot-dedicated operating system (OS). Arc Mind is an OS created by integrating Naver's accumulated web platform technology and robot software technology.
Kim Yoo-won, CEO of Naver Cloud, stated, "Many global tech stakeholders participating in LEAP 2024 showed great interest in Team Naver's world-class technological capabilities," adding, "Since we showcased businesses targeting not only Saudi Arabia but various countries and achieved results such as signing MOUs, we will continue to actively pursue global market expansion."
