Gwangmu announced on the 8th that it has completed the new construction of the Jecheon Plant's 'Management Building, Logistics Building, and Hazardous Materials Storage and Processing Building' as well as the major renovation of the 'Factory Building, Logistics Building 1, and Logistics Building 2.'

With this new construction and major renovation, the total floor area (2,356.75㎡) has approximately doubled compared to before, and the efficiency of the production infrastructure has been further enhanced. Going forward, the Jecheon Plant will serve as a foothold for pioneering Gwangmu's future new businesses through continuous collaboration with Epicamtec.

According to the company, the newly established 'Management Building, Logistics Building, and Hazardous Materials Storage and Processing Building' were designed to implement an optimized workflow for quality advancement, aiming for more thorough production process management, thereby planning to further upgrade product quality.

Specifically, in terms of work processes, the facility is equipped with the latest systems such as a 'closed system' that reduces worker interference and an 'automatic ventilation system,' as well as equipment capable of communicating with IT systems to secure and collect real-time process data.

The newly renovated 'Factory Building, Logistics Building 1, and Logistics Building 2' can produce and store additives that comply with the 'Standards for Industrial Material Manufacturing and Quality Control Regulations.' Additionally, by applying process analysis technology, manufacturing time has been shortened, leading to reduced production costs, thus completing the foundation for a smart factory.

Gwangmu has been actively promoting the establishment of a distribution network for secondary battery materials, including exporting lithium salt (LiPF6) to North America and Europe. Furthermore, the Jecheon Plant plans to develop and produce various industrial additives additionally.

A Gwangmu official stated, “The Jecheon Plant, expanded with state-of-the-art production facilities, can produce high-quality additives as well as additives that meet specific functions,” adding, “We expect to demonstrate capabilities in expanding external supply chains and securing overseas export routes in the future.”
