This campaign, as part of participatory policing and sincere policing efforts, involved over 50 participants including the police chief, the Muan county governor, school officials, the Green Mothers' Association, and the Model Drivers' Association. They distributed promotional items containing traffic safety slogans (pencils, band-aids) to children and guided them to make the three principles of defensive walking (Look, Stop, Walk) habitual.
Additionally, with the increasing convenience and short-distance mobility of personal mobility devices, the number of student users has surged. Especially for children under 13 years old, the campaign informed them of penalty regulations such as guardian punishment for driving (a fine of 100,000 KRW), passenger limits (a fine of 20,000 KRW), and helmet non-wearing (a fine of 40,000 KRW), actively promoting that children under 13 should not use personal mobility devices.
Kang Yong-jun, chief of Muan Police Station, stated, “To prevent child traffic accidents, we will do our best to improve a safe traffic culture for children through projects to improve school zones and expand and maintain traffic safety facilities.”
