HD Hyundai Establishes Entire Process from Production to Finished Product Supply"
HD Hyundai Oilbank's petrochemical subsidiary, HD Hyundai Chemical, announced on the 7th that it will collaborate with CJ CheilJedang to produce eco-friendly bio naphtha and eco-friendly plastic products based on it.
HD Hyundai Chemical plans to initially input 400 tons of bio raw materials and produce 12,000 tons of eco-friendly plastic products by the end of this year.
On the same day, the two companies signed a "Business Agreement for Establishing an Eco-friendly Bio Circular System" at the HD Hyundai Chemical headquarters in Daesan-eup, Seosan-si, Chungnam.
Through this agreement, HD Hyundai Chemical will receive a stable supply of bio raw materials such as soybean oil and waste cooking oil from CJ CheilJedang.
HD Hyundai Chemical will use the supplied bio raw materials to produce bio naphtha, and then supply the eco-friendly plastics produced from the bio naphtha back to CJ CheilJedang.
The supplied eco-friendly plastics will be used for CJ CheilJedang's convenient home meal containers and packaging materials.
The bio naphtha and plastic products produced by HD Hyundai Chemical are eco-friendly products certified by ISCC throughout the entire process.
ISCC certification is an international certification system that verifies eco-friendliness, requiring strict inspections from raw materials to processes and final products.
Both CJ CheilJedang and HD Hyundai Chemical have obtained the certification, making it possible to produce the first ISCC-certified eco-friendly bio naphtha in Korea.
Ko Young-gyu, CEO of HD Hyundai Chemical, said, "Unlike domestic petrochemical companies that rely on imports for bio naphtha, it is meaningful that we have established the entire production process from bio naphtha production to finished product supply."
