Efforts to Improve Traffic Safety Awareness
Traffic Safety Guidance and Promotion Activities
On the 6th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam conducted a traffic safety campaign around the Geochang-gun Office rotary and the Geochang Elementary School child protection zone to promote advanced traffic culture and ensure children's traffic safety.
About 60 people participated in the campaign, including the Geochang Police Station, Geochang Office of Education, Barugesalgi Movement Geochang-gun Council, Geochang Green Mothers' Association, and Geochang-gun public officials.
The traffic safety campaign activities included promoting compliance with crosswalk stop lines, prohibiting illegal parking and observing parking lines, banning smartphone use while walking, and raising awareness of traffic safety rules to prevent traffic accidents within school zones.
Additionally, they provided guidance for children on their way to school at the start of the semester and conducted traffic safety education for walking routes, ensuring thorough protection for children on their school commute paths.
Kim Jeong-yeon, Director of the Construction and Transportation Division, said, “We appreciate the officials who participated in the traffic safety campaign,” and added, “We will continue to do our best in campaign activities to establish an advanced traffic culture and improve traffic safety awareness.”
Meanwhile, the county plans to devote its efforts this year to improving child protection zones, installing and repairing traffic safety facilities, securing small-scale parking lots, and establishing advanced traffic culture and infrastructure. It also plans to continue conducting traffic safety campaigns throughout the year in cooperation with related organizations and civic groups.
