Despite the city's continuous efforts to reduce the use of disposable cups, these efforts often resulted in only temporary compliance. However, this year, to encourage and expand the use of reusable cups, the city has implemented measures such as linking carbon neutrality point benefits, conducting the "First Step to Loving the Environment: Reusable Cup Usage Campaign" throughout February, and encouraging all departments to promote reusable cup use during visits. As a result, the amount of disposable cups brought into the building has significantly decreased, and the use of reusable cups during meetings and guest receptions has become well established.

Building on this momentum, the city will fully enforce the ban on bringing disposable cups into the building starting from the 4th. To ensure this policy is firmly established, during lunch hours throughout March, staff will be stationed at six entrances of the city hall (including the council building) to control and guide visitors. Those bringing disposable cups will be required to either separate and dispose of them properly or exchange them for reusable cups before entering.

Additionally, to encourage participation in using reusable cups, Changwon City will hold an event called "Use DolDol e-Cup and Win Prizes!" throughout March. One hundred outstanding users of the DolDol e-Cup will receive upcycled products (a three-fold umbrella or a tumbler bag). Participation is simple: just use the digitalized DolDol e-Cup at cafes in Changwon City that accept reusable cups.

Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "We hope that by leading the reduction of disposable product use in public institutions, the culture of using reusable products will spread to the private sector as well. We will continue to promote and implement policies so that all citizens can participate in using reusable products."

Meanwhile, the city plans to continue ongoing guidance and publicity efforts to ensure the ban on bringing disposable cups into the building is firmly established even after March.
