Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 4th that it will hold the "2024 Regulatory Reform Idea Contest" until the 5th of next month.
This contest was promoted to discover and improve unreasonable regulations that hinder residents' lives and corporate and economic activities.
Seo-gu is accepting ideas for regulatory improvements related to daily life and business, including ▲eliminating restrictions on corporate management activities ▲improving working conditions for small business owners ▲rationalizing regulations in eco-friendly and new industry sectors ▲job creation ▲regulations that hinder welfare for childbirth, childcare, the elderly, disabled, and low-income groups ▲and improving daily inconveniences for residents.
The contest is open to all citizens regardless of region, and submissions can be made by mail, email, or direct visit to the Legal and Regulatory Innovation Team of the Audit Office at Seo-gu Office.
Seo-gu plans to recommend regulatory reform ideas related to central laws to the relevant central government ministries, and for local ordinances, the respective departments will review and the Regulatory Reform Committee will deliberate for internal adjustments.
Additionally, six outstanding proposals will be selected and awarded.
Meanwhile, last year, through the regulatory reform idea contest, Seo-gu proposed the "relaxation of employment permit standards for foreign workers in the construction industry" to central ministries. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety selected this as a key regulatory reform task, contributing to alleviating labor shortages in the construction industry and revitalizing the local economy.
