Kim Shin-young Receives Notice to Leave 'National Singing Contest'... "Production Team Also Surprised"

On the 4th, Kim Shin-young's agency C-JeS Studio stated, "Kim Shin-young was notified of her departure after the recording on the 9th," adding, "The production team was also caught off guard upon receiving the notice of the MC replacement and contacted us." Accordingly, Kim Shin-young is set to leave 'National Singing Contest' after the 'Incheon Seo-gu episode,' which will be recorded at the Incheon Talent Development Center on the 9th.

Previously, Kim Shin-young was selected as the successor MC in 2022, following the late Song Hae, who had served as the MC of National Singing Contest for 34 years from 1988 to 2022. Kim Shin-young's first broadcast recorded a fresh start with a 9.2% rating (according to Nielsen Korea), but as the special effect of the MC change wore off, the ratings dropped to the 6% range within two weeks and have remained in the 5% range this year. This is about half compared to the consistent ratings of around 10% maintained during Song Hae's tenure as MC.

Comedian Nam Hee-seok is being mentioned as Kim Shin-young's successor. Kim Shin-young plans to energetically participate in the final recording alongside the production team, who have traveled across the country for over two years.
