Researcher at K-MEDI Hub (Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation, Chairman Yang Jin-young) received the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation in the Young Researcher category at the ‘2023 Government Awards for Contributions to Health and Medical Technology Advancement’.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare annually selects promising young researchers in the health and medical R&D field and awards the ‘Government Awards for Contributions to Health and Medical Technology Advancement (Young Researcher category)’.
Senior Researcher Kim So-young of the New Drug Development Support Center at K-MEDI Hub was recognized for her achievements in developing treatments for autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and metabolic disorders, developing kinase inhibitors, supporting the Phase 1 clinical trial of FLT3-targeted anticancer drugs for acute myeloid leukemia, as well as domestic and international patents and private technology transfers, receiving the Minister’s Commendation in the Young Researcher category in 2023.
With this, K-MEDI Hub achieved the remarkable feat of receiving the Minister’s Commendation for two consecutive years, following the ‘2022 Government Awards for Contributions to Health and Medical Technology Advancement (Young Researcher category),’ proving itself as a central institution in Korea’s health and medical R&D.
Yang Jin-young, Chairman of K-MEDI Hub, said, “We are pleased that the outstanding capabilities of K-MEDI Hub researchers have been recognized,” and added, “We will continue to nurture excellent talent and strive for the development of the national health and medical industry.”
