A search was conducted overnight to find a missing captain in his 60s following a fishing boat capsizing accident near Marado, Jeju, but no results were achieved.

According to the Jeju Coast Guard on the 3rd, the search team, including the coast guard, deployed patrol vessels and aircraft from 6 p.m. the previous day to conduct a second night search focusing on the sea area near the accident site, but the missing person was not found. The night search involved six coast guard patrol vessels, one government ship, and two aircraft.
Earlier, at around 7:24 a.m. on the 1st, the A-ho (33-ton class), a coastal longline fishing boat registered in Seogwipo, which was fishing for hairtail about 20 km west of Marado, Seogwipo, Jeju, capsized. Of the 10 crew members on board, eight Korean and Vietnamese crew members were rescued, but one Korean crew member died. Additionally, two people, including the Korean captain and a crew member, went missing. On the 2nd, at around 12:30 p.m., a missing Korean crew member in his 50s, Mr. B, was found about 22 km from the accident location, but the captain of the fishing boat remains missing to this day.
