Bioelectronic technology company Cellames is developing animal alternative testing methods to replace animals sacrificed in animal experiments.
Cellames' cell analysis impedance measurement systems, CIMS-16 and CIMS-32, provide technology that can non-destructively monitor the state of cells such as growth, proliferation, and death in real time. Additionally, the cell local field potential (LFP) measurement systems CFPS-32 and CFPS-32-NR measure extracellular potentials according to cell excitation, which can be used for experiments such as drug toxicity evaluation and activity rate analysis. Besides these, Cellames also develops various cell chips for two-dimensional and three-dimensional cell analysis, offering solutions capable of analyzing organoids.
Cellames is reaching out to domestic bio-related research institutes, university laboratories, and companies, and plans to exhibit its products at a booth at the 2024 Society of Toxicology (SOT) Expo, the world's largest exhibition in the related field, held from April 11 to 13 (local time) in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
Jangjun Cho, CEO of Cellames, said, "We aim to present a new paradigm that can save animals by developing a human cell-derived organoid analysis system that can improve the safety and efficacy evaluation of pharmaceuticals for humans compared to animals."
