Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) announced on the 29th that it appointed the Government Legal Corporation (Chairman Jo Hee-jin), a national law firm under the Ministry of Justice, as its special legal advisor on the 21st.

As the types of administrative litigation have diversified and urgent legal consultation requests have increased due to the complexity of issues, the district revised its regulations to allow institutions, as well as individuals such as legal experts, to be appointed as special legal advisors. The plan is to enhance legal responsiveness by appointing a specialized law firm institution composed of a diverse pool of legal professionals.

The Government Legal Corporation specializes in national and administrative litigation and provides legal services focused on legal consultation and legislative support.

Gangnam-gu expects that the corporation's specialized legal services will help increase the win rate of the district's approximately 180 annual lawsuits. The district also doubled the legal advisory fees this year compared to the previous year, which had been maintained for the past 13 years.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “With the appointment of the Government Legal Corporation as a special legal advisor, we will systematically respond to national and administrative litigation and promptly resolve legal disputes and civil complaints related to the district.”
