Changwon Special City, "Jinhae Gunhangje Festival is a Festival Coexisting with Local Residents"

City and Provincial Council Members Hold Meeting with Representatives of Yeoja, Chungmu, and Gyeonghwa-dong Residents for Communication

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that the Yi Sun-sin Naval Port Festival Committee held meetings with local residents and city and provincial council members to ensure the successful hosting of the 62nd Jinhae Naval Port Festival.

The meeting held on the 27th was attended by Changwon Special City officials, as well as heads of residents' autonomy committees, neighborhood association chairpersons, and volunteer organization leaders from Chungmu-dong, Yeoja-dong, and Gyeonghwa-dong. The meeting with city and provincial council members included a total of about 30 participants, including six council members from the local constituencies.


Representatives of autonomous organizations from each neighborhood and city and provincial council members of Jinhae-gu raised concerns about the difficulties faced by residents due to the explosive increase in tourists every year and proposed various improvement measures. The Yi Sun-sin Naval Port Festival Committee and Changwon City listened carefully to each opinion and engaged in in-depth discussions on solutions.


The meeting particularly highlighted key issues such as ▲ revitalizing the festival through local resident participation ▲ resolving complaints related to environmental pollution and inconveniences in residents' daily lives ▲ and preparing traffic congestion countermeasures through close consultation with related festival organizations.


Park Dong-jin, Director of the Culture, Tourism, and Sports Bureau, stated, “A festival that progresses together with local residents is a festival that can continue to develop,” and added, “We will listen carefully to the voices of local residents and make every effort to prepare the festival so that it can improve every year.”
