SH Corporation to Establish '2030 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Roadmap' by Year-End

Environmental Management and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Roadmap Service Procurement

Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 28th that it will establish the '2030 Environmental Management Plan and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Roadmap' by the end of this year.

SH Corporation issued a research service contract in November last year to respond to climate change and establish an ESG environmental management system, and signed a contract with Deloitte Anjin Accounting Corporation in January.

Through this research service, social, environmental, and financial impacts will be assessed to identify significant environmental issues, enabling the establishment of the 2024-2030 environmental management plan considering international standards and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's management evaluation. Based on this, environmental management strategic goals and implementation tasks will be prepared, and a phased and sector-specific promotion system will be established.

A 'Greenhouse Gas Inventory' will be built to analyze sources and amounts of greenhouse gas emissions and manage them by categorizing according to emission scopes. Based on this, the 2030 greenhouse gas reduction target will be set, and detailed reduction measures and implementation systems will be prepared. The 'carbon offset' project, which recognizes carbon emission reductions by offsetting emissions through other means, will also be reviewed.

Third-party verification will be conducted on the greenhouse gas inventory to secure the reliability and objectivity of greenhouse gas emission amounts, and the plan is to proactively respond to environmental issues such as greenhouse gas reduction demands.

The corporation plans to publish a report called the 'Green Report' by the end of this year, containing the vision and strategic goals for eco-friendly management, efforts for carbon reduction, and achievements.
