Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will operate the ‘Kiwoom Restaurant’ starting next month, where children from dual-income and single-parent families who eat alone can have a nutritious dinner at an affordable price.

The ‘Kiwoom Restaurant’ will be operated at Nuribom Dahamkke Kiwoom Center, located in Irwon-dong, the largest Dahamkke Kiwoom Center for after-school care of elementary school students in Gangnam-gu (22 Yeongdong-daero).

Previously, meals were provided only to children using the Kiwoom Center, but through this new project, meal service will be expanded to children who do not use the center as well.

A meal prepared by a nutritionist and a cook using eco-friendly ingredients, consisting of rice, soup, three side dishes, and fruit, will be offered for 2,500 KRW, allowing children to intake balanced nutrients necessary for growth. Operating hours are from 6 to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and lunch is provided from 12 to 1 p.m. during school vacations.

To use the restaurant, advance reservation via the internet is required. Reservations can be made through the application link at least three days before the intended date of use. Available dates open in two-week intervals, and users can select their desired date within this period and pay the fee via bank transfer.

Since the service targets elementary school children from dual-income and single-parent families, supporting documents such as a family register or health insurance qualification certificate are required. For more details, contact Nuribom Dahamkke Kiwoom Center at 3414-8272.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “We are newly operating the Kiwoom Restaurant so that children who have to eat dinner alone can properly have their meals.” He added, “We currently operate 11 Dahamkke Kiwoom Centers and will open an additional center in the Suseo Station area to strengthen infrastructure and address care gaps.”
