Appointment of Ulsan's First Epidemiologist, Strengthening Professional Competence Beyond Probation

New Recruitment for Graduates of Specialized Epidemiological Investigation Training Course

Ulsan City has appointed Eunju Kim as the first Epidemiological Investigator to strengthen its epidemiological investigation capabilities.

This new recruitment was conducted for employees who have completed the specialized training course for epidemiological investigators and meet the qualification requirements.

Until now, six employees who worked at the city and district health centers were all appointed as 'Trainee Epidemiological Investigators,' but this is the first time someone has been appointed as an 'Epidemiological Investigator.'

To qualify for this position, candidates must complete a two-year field-centered job training program. They must fulfill various requirements including basic and ongoing education, publication in academic journals, infectious disease surveillance and analysis reports, outbreak epidemiological investigation reports, and press releases.

Through this enhancement of expertise, the city plans to respond to infectious diseases more professionally and promptly.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “With the newly recruited epidemiological investigator, professional and swift responses to infectious diseases have become possible, thereby significantly strengthening the community’s infectious disease response capabilities.”
