Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Kyung-ho Inspects 'Smart Rest Shelter'

On the 27th, visiting four 'Smart Rest Shelters' to discuss ventilation issues, durability, and space arrangement
Six new locations scheduled for installation by the first half of this year

On the 27th, Kim Kyung-ho, the mayor of Gwangjin District Office, inspected the ‘Smart Rest Shelter’ established for residents to relax in a pleasant and comfortable environment.

The ‘Smart Rest Shelter’ installed around bus stops not only protects against heat, cold, and fine dust, but also provides public transportation information through monitors, and is equipped with air purifiers and wired/wireless chargers, allowing people to rest comfortably while waiting.

Additionally, to prepare for possible crimes and accidents, closed-circuit televisions (CCTV), emergency bells, and automated external defibrillators (AED) have been installed so residents can use the facilities safely.

Mayor Kim carefully toured the four shelters currently in operation?located in front of Gwangjin Culture and Arts Center, Gwangnaru Police Substation, Exit 2 of Guui Station, and Gwangjin District Office?discussing with the responsible departments issues such as ventilation problems due to enclosed spaces, durability, and efficient internal space layout.

During the on-site inspection, he exchanged brief greetings with residents he met and checked if there were any inconveniences related to the Smart Rest Shelter.

Kim Kyung-ho, mayor of Gwangjin District Office, stated, “Above all, efficient operation without causing inconvenience to residents is necessary,” and urged, “Future ‘Smart Rest Shelters’ to be installed should be carefully planned with appropriate size and a pleasant environment.”

Gwangjin District plans to install six additional ‘Smart Rest Shelters’ by the first half of this year.
