Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters, Cheonsang Water Purification Plant Tour Program
Introduction to Tap Water Production and Supply Process, Year-Round Registration via Website
Do you know where tap water is made and how it reaches your home?
The Ulsan City Waterworks Headquarters is operating the ‘2024 Cheonsang Water Purification Plant Tour Program’ to raise awareness of the value and reliability of tap water.
The tours are available year-round (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays) for △ daycare children, kindergarteners, elementary students △ middle and high school students, and the general public.
Participants in the tour program watch videos about water conservation and purification facilities at the Cheonsang Water Purification Plant and gradually explore the production and supply process of tap water, including purification and water transmission stages.
The tour is conducted with explanations by a Clear Water Guide and takes about one hour. Applications for the tour can be made through the Waterworks Headquarters website.
A representative of the Cheonsang Water Purification Plant said, “Until last year, we replaced 13 high-efficiency water transmission pumps, reducing electricity consumption by more than 10%, and installed a 357kW solar power plant, generating 69 million KRW in annual non-tax revenue. We are continuously striving to supply clear and clean tap water that citizens can trust and safely drink.”
The Cheonsang Water Purification Plant tour program started in 2010, and as of February this year, a total of over 54,000 people have visited.
