This Year's 'Spring Festival' Walking Event Abundant
As the warm spring sunshine begins to shine, news of spring festivals is coming from all over the country. Especially this year, local governments are actively promoting walking paths for tourists visiting the festivals. It means you can enjoy the spring atmosphere, see various sights, and take care of your health through walking.
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the '2024 Ttangkkeut Haenam Dalma Trail Healing Festival' on the 23rd of next month. It is being prepared as an eco-friendly healing event where nature and people harmonize on the Dalma Trail, where the ecology of Ttangkkeut is alive. The Dalma Trail is a 17.74 km circular trail winding around Dalmasan Mountain in Haenam-gun. It is considered a 'premium trail' because you can walk while enjoying a panoramic view of Mihwangsa Temple and the Dadohae Sea. Haenam-gun plans various walking programs such as Nordic walking to enjoy the Dalma Trail itself.
From the 8th to the 17th of next month, the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival will be held in Maehwa Village, Daap-myeon, Gwangyang-si, and along the Seomjin River, featuring a barefoot walking event. The event symbolizes walking barefoot along about a 1 km section by the Seomjin River to overcome the cold and meet the earliest blooming plum blossoms. To facilitate this, Gwangyang-si has created a barefoot walking path from the riverside parking lot to Maehwa Village along the Seomjin River. The barefoot walking event is held daily at 10 a.m. during the festival period.
From the 9th to the 17th of next month, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do will hold the Gurye Sansuyu Flower Festival. At this festival, visitors can enjoy walking along the Sansuyu Flower Wall Road. Using a walking app, participants can also join a 'stamp tour' by visiting the integrated tourism belt of the Seomjin River area, including Gwangyang, Hadong, Gokseong, and Gurye.
From the 2nd of next month, the 36th Jirisan Baemsagol Gorosoe Mineral Water Festival will be held in Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, where you can participate in the Millennium Pine Walking Contest. The event involves walking a 5 km round trip from the venue to the Millennium Pine in Waun Village. The Baemsagol Gorosoe sap available at the festival is collected from about 70,000 gorosoe trees with a diameter of over 20 cm, growing at altitudes above 600 meters where the sea breeze does not reach and there is a large temperature difference between day and night.
In Jindo, Jeollanam-do, you can walk on a path created by the sea parting. This is through the Jindo Mysterious Sea Road Festival held for three days from the 11th of next month in Hoedong-ri, Gogeun-myeon, Jindo-gun. The theme of this annual festival this year is 'The Beginning of Spring, in the Mysterious Sea.' The sea between Hoedong-ri in Gogeun-myeon and Modori in Uisin-myeon opens due to tidal differences, with a length of 2.8 km and a width of about 40 meters.
The Yudalsan Spring Festival hosted by Mokpo-si will be held over two days on March 30 and 31 this year. The theme this year is 'Yi Sun-sin's Choice, Nojeokbong!' Nojeokbong Peak of Yudalsan Mountain is associated with a legend that Admiral Yi Sun-sin disguised a rock with straw to make it look like military grain and defeated the enemy. The Yudalsan Spring Festival, which has been held since 1996, is being prepared more diversely this year by linking it with Yi Sun-sin content.
