Seventeen Producer Beomju Wins 'Copyright Award' in Popular Lyrics and Composition Category Category, Hanumjeohyeop held the 10th Copyright Awards Ceremony Grand Prize Winner.

At the awards ceremony hosted by the Korea Music Copyright Association (Chairman Chuga Yeol, hereafter KOMCA) on the same day, BUMZU received the honor of the grand prize in the popular music songwriting and composition category, following PDOGG, the 'BTS producer,' who had won the copyright grand prize in the same category for five consecutive years since 2019.

BUMZU played a major role in establishing K-POP as a global mainstream by writing lyrics, composing, and producing most of the title tracks and album tracks for artists under his agency Pledis Entertainment, including Seventeen and NU'EST.

The 'KOMCA Copyright Awards,' the only copyright-related awards ceremony in Korea, awards the grand prize in each category to the lyricist or composer who received the highest copyright royalties in that category during the previous year.

Before BUMZU, PDOGG had dominated the songwriting and composition categories for five consecutive years. Previous winners in the lyricist category include Kim Eana (1st award), Kang Eun-kyung (2nd and 3rd awards), and GD (G-Dragon, 4th award), while in the composer category, winners include Kim Do-hoon (1st and 3rd awards), Jo Young-soo (2nd award), and Teddy (4th award).

In the popular arrangement category, composer Jo Young-soo received the grand prize for the fourth consecutive year. With this, Jo Young-soo has become a composer who has won the grand prize in the arrangement category six times in total.

Lee Sang-hee became the first to win the copyright grand prize in the children's song category for four consecutive years. World-renowned pianist and composer Yiruma was honored with the award in the classical category for three consecutive years. The grand prize in the traditional Korean music category went to Han Tae-soo, who composed 'Areumdaun Nara' (Beautiful Country).

The 'Song of the Year,' awarded to the song that received the highest copyright royalties in the music streaming sector in 2023, was given to 'Our Blues' by national singer Lim Young-woong. Songwriter Song Dong-woon, who wrote the lyrics, and composers and arrangers Choi In-hwan and Lee Seung-joo took the stage to receive the award.

The 'KOMCA Hall of Fame,' which honors musicians who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the music copyright industry, awarded the grand prize to the greatest singer-songwriter Jo Yong-pil, who has inspired countless musicians and singers with numerous hit songs and diverse music transcending eras and genres.

The non-pop music merit awards were given to Lee Jin-ho (pure music), who wrote the military song 'Meotjin Sanai' (Wonderful Man), Park Beom-hoon (traditional Korean music), who composed 'Bae Ttwieora' (Set Sail), and Kim Sook-kyung (children's songs), who composed 'Yogi Yeogi' (Here and There).
