VT announced on the 26th that its consolidated sales for last year increased by 23% compared to the previous year, reaching 295.5 billion KRW, and operating profit rose by 93% to 45.5 billion KRW. On a separate basis, sales increased by 13.2% to 178.1 billion KRW, and operating profit grew by 70.2% to 32 billion KRW.
In the fourth quarter, consolidated sales increased by 23.1% year-on-year to 88.8 billion KRW, and operating profit surged by 163% to 18.8 billion KRW. On a separate basis, sales rose by 28.3% to 55.4 billion KRW, and operating profit increased by 179.4% to 13.1 billion KRW.
The growth in VT’s sales and operating profit is attributed to the expansion of its cosmetics division, VT Cosmetics, and its subsidiary Cube Entertainment. Separate from the laminated business division that was spun off, VT achieved performance growth solely through cosmetics sales.
In the cosmetics sector, VT continued quarterly growth fueled by the explosive success of Riddle Shot, launched in June last year. The successful launch of Riddle Shot sustained growth in the Japanese market, strengthening its presence on online platforms such as Qoo10, Rakuten, Amazon Japan, and ZOZOTOWN.
Additionally, in the U.S. market, VT created an environment to start Amazon US operations, and domestically, it laid the groundwork for market reclamation by entering new channels such as Daiso, pharmacies, and Olive Young. Cube Entertainment also showed strong performance in concerts, advertising, and album sales, with (G)I-DLE becoming a million-seller, continuing the upward trend in sales and operating profit.
VT expects this year to be another year of sustained growth. VT Cosmetics plans to discover new offline stores in the Japanese market while continuing to expand Riddle Shot sales through existing stores. In the U.S. market, it aims to create a new category of topical MTS (Microneedle Therapy System) essence through marketing with local beauty influencers on YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms.
In the domestic market, it is expected to be a foundational year for generating meaningful sales through increased SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) and expanded store openings at Daiso, pharmacies, and Olive Young. Its subsidiary Cube Entertainment is also expected to grow as (G)I-DLE pursues more aggressive activities.
