Minus 15 Degrees... Store Owner Hands Coffee to Delivery Worker
A heartwarming story of a Seoul cafe owner offering a warm cup of coffee to an elderly flower delivery worker is gaining attention from netizens.
Recently, a story about a cafe owner named A, located in Seorae Village, Seoul, was shared across various online communities. In the uploaded video, an elderly man wearing a black coat opens the door and enters while A is working behind the counter. The elderly man was a delivery worker who had come to deliver a flowerpot ordered at A’s cafe.
At the time the video was recorded, the temperature was minus 15 degrees Celsius. Feeling sympathy for the elderly man after receiving the flowerpot, A decided to offer him a warm latte. When A handed the latte to the man, he took out a 10,000 won bill from his wallet and tried to give it to A. When A tried to refuse, the man said, "This is the first time I’ve been treated to coffee while doing delivery work," and pressed the bill into his hand.
In a post on the cafe’s official Instagram, A wrote, "Running a cafe has taught me so many things I never knew before," and added, "I feel like I’ve learned a great deal about how to be considerate in life."
He continued, "I’m over forty and thought I had a lot of experience in society, but every day still feels new and is a continuous learning process," and expressed gratitude by saying, "Thank you to the elderly man who taught me this."
Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "Both the shop owner and the elderly man have truly warm hearts," "It was really a cold day, so what you did was wonderful," and "Because of people like this, life still feels worth living."
