Gangseo-gu Operates Emergency Public Health Medical Countermeasures Headquarters to Minimize Medical Service Gaps

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) announced that it has launched an emergency response system to reduce medical service gaps by operating an Emergency Public Health Medical Countermeasures Headquarters in preparation for collective action by the medical community.

The withdrawal of medical residents from the field due to collective action is intensifying, and concerns about damage to the health and lives of the public are growing as medical associations have announced a nationwide doctors' general rally.

Accordingly, the district has fully activated the Emergency Public Health Medical Countermeasures Headquarters to alleviate residents' anxiety.

The Emergency Public Health Medical Countermeasures Headquarters, led by the Deputy Mayor, is composed of ▲General Countermeasures Team ▲Emergency Medical Treatment Team ▲External Cooperation Team ▲Public Relations Team to respond swiftly according to the situation.

Additionally, as the health and medical disaster crisis alert level was raised to the highest 'Severe' stage, the district extended the operating hours of primary care clinics at public health centers until 8 p.m.

An emergency public health medical countermeasures situation room will be established at the public health centers to receive inconvenience reports, assess crisis situations, and promote medical institutions that remain open.

The district plans to take active measures if medical institutions engage in collective action.

In the event of collective action by private practitioners, the district will issue a treatment order under the mayor’s name urging the continuation of medical services, and if the collective closure is enforced, a work commencement order will be issued.

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, “We will mobilize all available resources to fill the medical service gaps and respond strictly to illegal acts. We will maintain close cooperation among departments and thoroughly monitor medical institutions until the emergency caused by the medical community’s collective action ends, minimizing inconvenience to residents.”
