Global Digital Twin Market to Reach 180 Trillion KRW by 2028
A Massive Market Growing Over 30% Annually
"The Only Domestic Simulation-Based Platform Company Growing"
Simulation-based digital twin solution provider E8 is showing strong performance on its first day of listing.
As of 9:22 a.m. on the 23rd, E8 is trading at 29,450 KRW, up 47.0% from the public offering price of 20,000 KRW.
Founded in 2012, E8 commercialized the particle-based simulation NFLOW, which complements the limitations of existing foreign simulation software, for the first time in Korea using purely domestic technology. The self-developed NDX PRO is a data-driven digital twin platform that integrates various element technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, and 3D visualization to provide a customized digital twin environment for users.
Jinhyun Kim, CEO of E8, stated, "The global digital twin market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of over 30%, becoming a massive market worth 180 trillion KRW by 2028," adding, "We are the first and only company in Korea to develop and commercialize particle simulation software using domestic technology."
CEO Kim explained, "Digital twin is about replicating real-world objects exactly in the virtual world to predict and solve potential problems in reality," and added, "Simulation technology is the core competitiveness, and companies with simulation technology are leading the market overseas."
He continued, "We have been using graphics processing units (GPUs) instead of central processing units (CPUs) for over 10 years," explaining, "Particle-based simulation requires much more computational power than traditional grid methods." He also mentioned, "We hold related patents domestically and internationally," and added, "This is why our clients are satisfied with E8’s fast analysis speed."
He emphasized, "By applying the latest deep learning AI technology, the long short-term memory model (LSTM), to the core of our products to enable stable collection and provision of large-scale data, we expect to implement the fourth stage of digital twin in the near future."
CEO Kim explained, "Among major companies in the digital twin business, only three?including France’s Dassault Syst?mes, the U.S.’s Ansys, and Germany’s Siemens?possess Level 3 technology that provides simulation functions like E8." He added, "Ansys was recently sold to U.S. company Synopsys for about 45 trillion KRW," revealing the immense future value of E8.
He further explained, "Our self-developed digital twin platform integrates various element technologies such as AI, IoT, cloud, and 3D visualization," and added, "Based on our advanced technology, we are establishing the national data standard for digital twin."
Since 2022, E8 has participated as the lead company in a five-year research and development (R&D) project to establish the Union Twin standard. It is also involved in building digital twins for the national pilot city projects in Sejong and Busan smart cities. In 2022, the Deputy Minister of Housing of Saudi Arabia personally visited E8 to discuss collaboration related to smart cities.
E8 is also pursuing overseas expansion. It has established an overseas branch in Singapore to pioneer overseas markets, focusing on Southeast Asia. CEO Kim stated, "We will focus on overseas business based on domestic references such as smart cities, building energy management, and secondary batteries," and added, "Starting this year, we will actively promote digital twin construction cases by attending major conferences held overseas."
Researcher Jemin Park of SK Securities said, "Since they have their own software (SW), they can respond more quickly to market development and are expected to achieve higher levels of sales leverage," and predicted, "Their software has differentiating features from existing simulation software, enabling them to penetrate the digital twin market as a major player."
Researcher Jongsun Park of Eugene Investment & Securities analyzed, "E8 will grow as the only simulation-based platform company in Korea," and added, "As the domestic digital twin market grows at an average annual rate of 30%, adoption of E8’s platform is expanding across various industrial sectors."
