Prosecutor Causes Overturn Accident While Drunk Driving... Arrested by Police

An active prosecutor was arrested by the police after causing a car rollover accident while driving under the influence, which was revealed belatedly.

According to the prosecution on the 22nd, Prosecutor A, affiliated with a metropolitan district prosecutor's office, caused a car rollover accident while driving under the influence around 1 a.m. on the 16th near Seongsan Bridge on Gangbyeonbuk-ro in Mapo-gu, Seoul. He was caught in the act by the police. There were no casualties from the accident.

Prosecutor A has been released and is under investigation for charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act. The district prosecutor's office to which Prosecutor A belongs plans to investigate the facts based on the police investigation records.

According to the Prosecutor Disciplinary Act, disciplinary action is requested by the Prosecutor General, and the Ministry of Justice Prosecutor Disciplinary Committee reviews and decides on the disciplinary measures and severity.
