The Department of Nursing at Dong-A University (Head Kang Ji-yeon) held the '26th Nightingale Oath Ceremony.'

The Nightingale Oath Ceremony took place on the 16th at Dow Hall on Dong-A University's Bumin Campus during the 2023 academic year nursing degree conferment ceremony.


The 'Nightingale Oath Ceremony' involves reciting the oath embodying Nightingale's nursing spirit, deeply instilling the sense of mission and responsibility required as a nurse, marking the first step as a prospective nurse.


The event was attended by Head Kang, nursing faculty members, Park Bong-hee, 1st Vice President of the Busan Metropolitan City Nurses Association, Won Yoon-hee, President of the Dong-A University Nursing Alumni Association, nursing students, and parents.


At the ceremony, 102 graduates received nursing medals and took the Nightingale Oath.


Shin Yoon-hee, a graduate who served as the president of the nursing student council, said, "It was meaningful to hold the Nightingale Oath Ceremony together with the graduation ceremony, which we could not do due to COVID-19," adding, "It allowed me to reaffirm the role and mission of a nurse before becoming one."


The Department of Nursing at Dong-A University was selected as an institution for the '2022 Nursing College Practice Education Support Project' and established the 'PIVOT Simulation Center' to enable students to experience various practical trainings using advanced facilities and equipment on campus.
