[Special Stock] RaonPeople Achieves Domestic Technology for Drastic Reduction in GPU Usage... Expected Expansion of AI Edge Video Analytics Devices

RaonPeople is showing strong performance. It appears that the news of its subsidiary RaonRoad receiving an 'Excellent' rating in the AI semiconductor application demonstration government project conducted last year is influencing the stock price.


As of 1:47 PM on the 22nd, RaonPeople was trading at 7,280 KRW, up 290 KRW (4.15%) compared to the previous trading day.


RaonRoad focused on domestic production of equipment and technology by developing affordable and high-performance domestic AI semiconductors and SDK (Software Development Kit). Through optimized AI models, it concentrated on multi-detection and demonstration for objects, vehicles, license plate recognition, and urban control. It verified efficiency by increasing recognition rates while drastically reducing GPU usage. It is analyzed that the company received the 'Excellent' rating with products and software optimized for completing smart cities, including developing technology for traffic digital twin implementation through data acquisition and complex AI edge analysis.


The AI semiconductor application demonstration project is a government initiative to develop high-performance AI edge video analyzers using domestic semiconductors and to demonstrate smart city control and application services, with RaonRoad leading the consortium.


The government is expected to focus on securing a super-gap competitiveness in smart city solutions by utilizing high-performance, low-power domestic AI semiconductors and advancing AI solutions through actual references. In line with global smart city construction, it anticipates leading both domestic and global markets by completing digital twins using AI technology, optimizing traffic environments, improving urban control systems, and building safe future cities.


Additionally, the government plans to achieve both technological competitiveness and job creation by revitalizing the AI technology and AI semiconductor-related markets, developing application software including AI edge cameras, video analysis, and SDKs, and fostering specialized personnel.


The National IT Industry Promotion Agency, which oversees the AI semiconductor application demonstration project, will make final decisions on follow-up project development and support scale through the second-year business plan and review for companies that received excellent evaluations in the assessment.
