Establishing Hotline Between Health Center and Hospitals
Extending Operating Hours of Dongtan Health Center
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it is operating an emergency medical response situation room in preparation for collective action by the medical community following the government's plan to increase the number of medical school quotas.
The city is operating emergency medical response situation rooms at each public health center in the western, Dongtan, and eastern areas. The public health centers have established hotlines with frontline hospitals to monitor the medical community situation and collective actions of medical institutions within the jurisdiction, grasp the status of emergency medical institutions, and take measures to enable prompt response in case of emergencies.
In particular, the Dongtan Public Health Center, which oversees the Dongtan area where Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital, a training hospital for residents, is located, is operating the emergency medical response situation room from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. The public health center also decided to extend consultation hours in cooperation with hospital-level medical institutions within the jurisdiction.
The city is providing information on neighborhood medical institutions that are open and their operating hours on the emergency medical portal to minimize inconvenience for citizens using medical institutions.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, urged related departments to "respond systematically and actively to prevent any inconvenience to citizens," and also asked citizens to refrain from using 119 ambulances for mild patients to ensure prompt treatment of severe and emergency patients.
