Firefighters and Volunteer Fire Brigades Strengthen Fire Prevention Activities
The Chungnam Fire Headquarters announced on the 22nd that from the 23rd to the 26th, they will conduct special alert duty to prevent fires during the Jeongwol Daeboreum festival and to enable rapid response in case of large-scale fires.
During this period, Chungnam Fire will station fire trucks and ambulances close to festival venues and strengthen preventive patrols in fire-prone areas such as traditional markets and forest-adjacent regions to eliminate risk factors in advance.

Approximately 14,000 firefighters and volunteer firefighters along with 731 firefighting equipment units will be deployed to the Jeongwol Daeboreum event sites.
Currently, there are 10 scheduled Jeongwol Daeboreum-related events in the region, including the Daljip Burning at Asan Oeam Folk Village, expected to attract around 2,800 people.
During the special alert duty period, Chungnam Fire will conduct safety education for managers of multi-use facilities and enforce illegal parking regulations to secure fire truck access routes in cooperation with related agencies.
Additionally, a field dispatch system centered on fire station chiefs will be established for rapid response in case of disasters, and all available firefighting resources will be mobilized from the early stages of fire to minimize damage through proactive measures.
Song Hee-kyung, head of the Prevention and Safety Division at Chungnam Fire, stated, “We will strive to ensure that residents can safely celebrate Jeongwol Daeboreum.”
