Ulsan City to Accept Applications for Resident Support Projects in Development Restriction Zones Next Year

Application from Gu/Gun to City by March 4

Ulsan City is accepting applications for next year's development-restricted zone resident support projects until March 4.

This project is a national government-supported initiative by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, aimed at providing convenience and welfare improvements for residents experiencing inconveniences due to strict regulations within the development-restricted zones, as well as environmental improvements.

The types of projects include ▲living infrastructure projects that expand basic facilities such as roads, water and sewage systems, village halls, and city gas ▲environmental and cultural projects that create recreational spaces such as Nuri-gil trails, leisure green spaces, and scenic areas ▲and subsidies for renovating old houses.

When districts and counties collect opinions from residents in the development-restricted zones and apply to the city for projects, the applications undergo document evaluation and expert consultation, after which priorities are assigned and submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Then, after a comprehensive review by the Ministry's evaluation committee, projects are finally selected around September. If selected, depending on the financial independence of the district or county, 70 to 90% of the project costs can be supported.

An official from Ulsan City said, “We hope that various living infrastructure projects that can provide practical help to residents in the development-restricted zones will be discovered and applied for.”

This year, Ulsan City will implement a total of six resident support projects with a budget of 6.8 billion KRW, including road expansion work from Pungam Village to Gilchon Village in Jung-gu, sewage pipeline installation in Soepyeong Village in Dong-gu, and leisure green space creation in Daewoonsan, Ulju-gun.
