Miryang-si, Various Flowers Displayed on Bridges for Spring Celebration

Create Beautiful Attractions in Miryang

Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 21st that it will display about 1,300 pansy and viola flower pots at four city bridges (Miryanggyo, Namcheongyo, Yerimgyo, Yongdugyo) to welcome spring.

The displayed flowers are expected to be in full bloom in March and April, signaling the arrival of spring to citizens who had been curled up from the winter cold and providing a bright and beautiful sight for visitors to Miryang.

Starting with spring pansies and violas, the city plans to operate flower displays on the bridges throughout the year, exhibiting petunias in summer and more until the end of the year.

The Miryang Agricultural Technology Center grows the flowers in its directly managed nursery to supply them in a timely manner and has introduced an automatic watering system to the flower pots on the bridge displays to aid flower growth and minimize maintenance costs.

Shin Young-sang, head of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, “We hope that the bridge flower displays will provide a moment of healing for citizens and visitors passing by the bridges, and we will strive to cultivate the beautiful image of Miryang by exhibiting various flowers according to the seasons in the future.”
